The slick, wet hair look at Altuzarra by Kérastase Paris

“The hair for Altuzarra this season is a sophisticated, wet-hair look,” says Odile Gilbert, Kérastase Paris Consulting Hairstylist. “It is definitely sexy and represents the moment when you get out of the water at the beach and push your hair back.” To get the look:

Step 1: Section off hair and use a spray bottle to completely wet the hair.

Step 2: Then, take generous amounts of Crème de la Crème and apply all over the full head.

Step 3: Brush hair straight back, pulling all of the hair off of the face for a combed back look. Lift hair at the roots to add texture and movement.

Step 4: Lightly dry hair with a diffuser, scrunching the ends to add natural texture.

Step 5: Add Forme Fatale to the crown and top of the head for added shine and to lock the style in place.

Step 6: Finish the look by spritzing Laque Dentelle all over.

Nude nails at Alexander Wang by Essie

Beach bums having fun in the sun and playing in the sand were the inspiration behind the nails at Alexander Wang’s Spring 2017 runway show. Michelle Saunders for Essie wanted to create tips that would transform a neutral look into a sanded-down effect after spending all that time catching rays on the shoreline. To get the look:

Step 1: Before starting your manicure, Saunders suggests slightly buffing natural nails with a super soft buffer to ensure smooth coverage when opting for a matte nail.

Step 2: Apply one coat of Essie Ridge Filling Base Coat on clean nails to ensure a smooth application.

Step 3: Coat nails with one layer of Essie Cocktails & Coconuts, a neutral with just a hint of shimmer, like the sand in the sun.

Step 4: Next, apply one coat of Essie Au Natural.

Step 5: Finish with one coat of Elle Matte About You Top Coat to get that sandy effect.

Fresh, dewy makeup at Band of Outsiders by Maybelline New York

Maybelline New York’s Grace Lee looked to L.A. street kids for inspiration for the sun-kissed, dewy beauty at the Band of Outsiders SS2017 show. Glowing skin and pink cheeks were balanced with a strong brow and long lash. To get the look:

Step 1: Use the Face Studio Master Camo Color Correcting Kit to correct any imperfections on the skin. Apply a healthy dose of Baby Lips to the nouth for moisture. Then, apply Dream Cushion Foundation (launching January 2017) with a damp sponge, noting that a little goes a long way, so sheer it out for second skin coverage.

Step 2: For the brows, use Brow Precise Fiber Volumizing Mascara, which helps to instantly plump up the hairs, if needed. If brows are sparse, fill in any areas with the Brow Drama Pro Palette to achieve a full, strong shape.

Step 3: Take the small brush from the Face Studio Master Camo Color Correcting Kit and use the highlighter shade to highlight the inner corner of the eyes. Lee then applies the same highlight all over the eyelids, along the bridge of the nose and on the cupid’s bow and chin. To get extra-long lashes, Lee first curls them with an eyelash curler, and then applies The Falsies Push Up Angel Mascara (launching October 2016) to just the top lash line. She then lines in between each lash with Master Precise Skinny liner to accentuate the lashes.

Step 4: To get that “just pinched” cheek look, Lee applies Color Sensational The

Loaded Bolds in Mauve It to the apples of each cheek. She pats the same lip color right into the lips for a natural, flushed look. To complete the look, Lee mixes Master Strobe Illuminating Face Stick and little bit of Lip Studio Shine Shot Glassy Topcoat together and lightly taps it into the cheeks as a highlight. She also taps it down the bridge of the nose, on the cupid’s bow, and on the chin to achieve that dewy glow.

Sleek strands at Carolina Herrera by TRESemmé

The half up, half down look got a futuristic vibe at the Carolina Herrera show. ’When you have an intricate look and you’re using hair ties to conceal them, aim a little higher than you want it to be so that it’s easier to tuck into the remaining hair for a flawless finish,” advises Orlando Pita, TRESemmé New York Fashion Week Ambassador. To get the look:

Step 1: Start with TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Shampoo, followed by the TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Conditioner for a smooth foundation.

Step 2: Work in a small amount of TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Keratin Infusing Serum and blow dry the hair straight with a round bristle brush.

Step 3: Run a straightener over the hair, making sure there are no kinks or stray hairs and spray with TRESemmé Botanique Damage Recovery Oil Elixir for a healthy shine.

Step 4: Work in a small amount of TRESemmé TRES Two Extra Firm Control Gel into the roots of the hair with your fingertips, for hold, not volume. Dry the product in on low heat to ensure a matte finish.

Step 5: Make a deep side part and comb hair back then generously spray TRESemmé TRES Two Extra Firm Non-Aerosol Hairspray to hold hair in place.

Step 6: Take a two-inch section from just above the ear and sweep hair across to the opposite side and affix with a small part of hair from that side using a small clear elastic band. Repeat this process on the opposite side.

Step 7: Tuck hair bands under the opposite part of hair so you cannot see the band. Use a soft bristle brush to tame flyaways and finish the look with TRESemmé TRES Two Extra Firm Non-Aerosol Hairspray.

90s indie beauty at Creatures of the Wind by NARS

The 90s were all over the SS17 runways, and the Creatures of the Wind show had the best of the decade’s beauty down. “PJ Harvey is the inspiration. ‘Lick my legs of desire, lick my legs, I’m on fire!’ Early 90s indie girl with a heaping dose of muted Dragon Girl,” says Mark Carrasquillo for NARS Cosmetics. Dabbing on NARSskin Total Replenishing Eye Cream on lips will make lip color stick around. For even coverage, Radiant Creamy Concealer and Stick Concealer do the trick.

Step 2: Swipe Triple X Lip Gloss on eye.

Step 3: Perfect the pucker with Dragon Girl Velvet Matte Lip Pencil and Exhibit A Blush.
