DFW Beauty Bombshell: Tamra Nicole

Name & Age:

Tamra Nicole, 31

Professional Title:

Fashion Blogger & Personal Shopper

A little background:

I'm originally from Houston and went to school at Howard University in Washington D.C. where I studied Public Relations. After graduation I moved to Atlanta, GA where I worked in Marketing. At that time many of my co-workers kept asking me for fashion advice and to style them for upcoming events. An opportunity arose for me to work for a Celebrity Fashion Stylist and that's where I caught the fashion bug. I then went on to attain a Fashion Marketing degree from Parsons The New School for Design in NYC. While at Parsons I interned at Barneys New York and studied Fashion at the University of Westminster in London. NYC was good to me. I worked at the world reknowned Bergdorf Goodman where I started as an Assistant and eventually promoted to a Personal Shopper on 5F.

I also started my blog, Southern Maze, in NYC. After a 4 year run I was ready to make my way back home to Texas and have been in Dallas for about a year and a half. I'm still blogging and have been featured and honored for my style both in the DFW area and nationwide. Locally, I have been featured on the DALLAS BIG campaign boards, #BLACKDFWMATTERS Black History Month Tribute, and The City Influencer.

Beauty regimens and tips:

I have been blessed to not have too many issues with my skin. I use Origins Modern Friction, every other day, Clean & Clear Blackhead Scrub and Morning Burst face wash in the mornings. I also make sure I wash my face thoroughly before bed. Oil of Olay makeup remover wipes are my fav! Ambi Even & Clear Moisturizer is a must have for me. I literally will drive miles away to make sure I have it.

What are your favorite local beauty brands and/or services?

Like most African American women, I do not play about my hair. My hairstylist Ron Parker keeps my hair healthy and fly! People stop me all the time asking for my hairstylist number or to compliment my cut. Ron is honestly the best and I'm so lucky I found him.

I'm also a big nails girl, you will never find me with naked nails. I've been doing my own nails since 13 and I'm super particular who touches mine. Venus Nail Spa off Windhaven in the Tollway is my favorite nail place in the city. Lastly, when my body is feeling tense and I need a massage I treat myself to Elements Massage.

What are some of your must have summer accessories?

Bucket Bags, Gladiator Sandals & my Celine Sunglasses!

Quick, Glossy or Matte?

Matte, definitely!

If you could have dinner with ANY local DFW woman, who would it be?

Dede from the Dede in the Morning Show. I love her show, she is hilarious! Her personality seems really fun, I feel like we would get along and she does a lot for the community.

Any last words or bits of inspiration for our DFW Beauties?

Remember to let your light shine bright!

When you are tune with your inner light you are able to project it onto others and leave them feeling inspired. Hang around people who support, inspire and push you past your comfort zones. If your friends don't encourage you to be the best person you can be...get new friends. Lastly postivie vibes only! Positive mind, positive life!
