Name & Age:
Kari Kriewald, 23 years old
Social Media Coordinator at Zoës Kitchen and Fashion + Beauty Blogger for Sophisticated Whimsy
A little background:
I grew up in Austin, TX where I luckily was constantly surrounded by unique people, style and extreme passion. I’ve always had a special niche (maybe slight obsession) with fashion. I remember begging my mom as a child to buy me the latest Vogue issue each month so I could flip through the pages and memorize the designers and styles. It wasn’t until I was I was a bit older that I decided to turn my passion into a career.
I received my Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University where I majored in business and minored in journalism and communication. Not knowing exactly what I wanted to pursue in my professional career, I very quickly realized that whatever I ended up doing, I was positive that I wanted to interact with people in a creative and constantly evolving space.
Being relatively new to the blogging world, I am still focusing on developing my personal brand while meeting and connecting with others who share the same passion for blogging, fashion and all things beauty. Making the transition into the fashion world by creating Sophisticated Whimsy has opened a whole new door for me and I am so very excited to see what opportunities arise from it.
Beauty regimens and tips?
Oh goodness, I could go on and on about this, but I’ll keep it (relatively) simple for length purposes. My daily night-time routine is a little excessive if I'm being completely honest. I am a firm believer in always taking your make-up off before bed (no exceptions!), exfoliation and beauty oils. I also am a firm believer in drinking half of your body weight in ounces of water per day and only washing your hair 2-3 times per week.
What are your favorite local DFW beauty brands or beauty related services?
This is an easy one – Drybar for the win! I mean in all honesty, who could turn down champagne and a blow out?!
Must-have spring fashion accessories?
Unlike the previous question - this one is a tad more difficult. If I had to choose, I'd say my 3 must-have Spring accessories in 2015 are white jeans, floral print anything and a bright bold lip!
If you could have dinner with any local DFW woman, who would it be?
Amber Venz Box, President and Co-Founder of rewardStyle. I would love to pick her brain about the initial strategies she proposed for rewardStyle and how she feels about the extreme success they're receiving. rewardStyle is an absolute game-changing platform for style publishers.
Any last words, pieces of wisdom for our DFW beauties?
