DFW Beauty Guide: Falling into Hue

We asked three LOCAL stylish DFW Beauties for their tips on how they keep their vibrant locks in-check ALL year long!

Lisa Pineiro

Former news anchor and current Glotrition entrepreneur, Lisa Pienerio tells us how she keeps her gorgeous bronde hair in check.

Since I'm Latina, my hair tends to be on the curly, frizzy side so I LOVE
the Living Proof leave-in conditioner.

Moroccan oil tames after I blow dry and gives a great shine. I also love the smell! I literally use it as a body oil too. I don't wash my hair everyday because it's too drying so I use the dry shampoo from R&Co (find at BlueMercury in HP Village). The scent is nice and a little softer than others I've tried. It also doesn't leave a dull residue. Lastly, Alex at Dear Clark Salon in Uptown is the hair color whisperer. Lol! He has mastered the perfect honey tones for my highlights which is no easy task for brunettes!

President + Publicist of CultureHype, Amber LaFrance tells us how she keeps that gorgeous red hue fresh ALL year round.

Aveda Color Conserve shampoo

I've been sporting my red hair since college! I'm naturally dirty blond, so it picks up and holds red quite nicely. My go-to products: Aveda Color Conserve shampoo and conditioner, I mix it up weekly with this and Aveda Madder Root shampoo/conditioner (it's only for red hair!) I only wash my hair 2 times weekly so that helps too, I have very thick hair! Other products I love:

-Oribe Apres Beach Wave and Shine Spray

-Aveda Brilliant Damage Control Spray

-Unite U Argan Oil

-Redken Outshine 01 Anti-Frizz Polishing Milk

-Jilbere Nano Silver Curling Wand

*My REAL secret: Colorist Michelle Bowden at Avalon Salon - West Village! She keeps my hair vibrant and healthy!

Lastly, we caught up with Dallas Mavs Dancer, Kathryn Dunn, to tell us how she keeps her golden locks glowing!

Although I’m a natural blonde, my natural color is more of a “dishwater blonde”. Since the contrast is pretty noticable, I make it a top priority to visit Osgood O’Neil Salon to get my highlights touched up.

Osgood is the master behind the Dallas Mavericks Dancer’s beautiful hair this year!

Not only do they provide us with great color, but their blowouts are AMAZING.

Paul Mitchell has the BEST line of Color Protect products. These products help shield my blonde hair from sun and heat damage, and help me maintain a longer-lasting vibrant color. I highly recommend using the Color Protect Shampoo and Conditioner duo, reconstructive treatment, and locking spray to maintain your best color in between touch ups!

This last product is a personal beauty secret of mine, and a LIFESAVER. Color WOW Root Cover Up is similar to a powder makeup compact and camouflages your roots while you’re in that awkward limbo land in between appointments, while looking incredibly natural! It’s an easy application and lasts until you shampoo. Sometimes I’ll even wear it when my roots aren’t that bad, yet I want to look extra fresh for a photo-shoot or performance!

There you have it ladies, that's how we keep our locks ready for selfies here in the BIG D!
