NAME & AGE:
DeDe McGuire - "Didn't you know a lady never tells, ha!"
A little background:
I have been with the station and the Morning Show for the last five years. The show was renamed after me two years ago. I am happily married to a wonderful man..and have been for the last 4 years. We do not have any children, but plan on adopting a dog soon! I am the youngest of five, a military brat who spent three years in Germany as a kid and eventually moved to Killeen/Fort Hood while in junior high. Many people don't know that I also Co-Host a nationally syndicated radio show in the afternoon every day from 2p-6p called "The Doug Banks Show". (We have recently learned that Dede has just resigned)
What's your favorite thing to do in the DFW metroplex?
People watch, soak up the sun during the summer months, restaurant hop in Dallas on the weekends, boating (Lewisville, Joe Pool, Grapevine), stay-cations in downtown McKinney, art festivals, the list goes on and on. I love catching the Mavericks & FC Dallas games when they're playing. Also, my husband just turned me on to Ft. Worth scene. The restaurants on west 7th street and the newly revamped Sundance Square have an exciting vibe.
Any beauty regimens you'd like to share with our DFW beauties?
I use Neutrogena acne stress control wash, Chanel Hydra Beauty Serum and I use the Clarisonic twice a week. I ALWAYs remove my makeup with Ponds facial wipes. ...and occasionally at night I may put on Nerium age defying night cream.
During winter months when my skin gets extra dry I use La Mer and I always make time for facials, typically, once every two months.
What are your favorite beauty brands in the DFW?
I love the Grand Spa! My favorite facialist is Shawn. My favorite make-up artist is Riska Crowder. She is amazing and also applies and maintains my lashes.
If anyone has their pulse on the music scene here in the DFW, it would be you, what concert are you most exciting for?
Easy. Justin Timberlake. He puts on a show like no other.
If you could have dinner with any local DFW woman, who would it be? Why?
Clarice Tinsley and Laura Bush.
I admire Clarice's professionalism, her longevity, and the fact that she is a female and minority, who has succeeded in the competitive world of broadcasting. She is a trailblazer in her field, and I believe I can learn a lot from her. She has gumption, she is tenacious and she's accomplished.
I'd also love to break bread with Laura Bush... I want to know all the White House secrets! Honestly, I want to know what was it like living in a fish bowl? Did she have days where she roamed the halls in her pj's or sweats? How did she raise her girls to be so grounded in a world of privilege and notoriety? How has she adjusted to civilian life?
So many questions, so little time!
