With so many different workout classes and methods of eating healthier, it can be overwhelming when you are trying to figure out which ones you should take on.
From our experiences, our philosophy has become do what works for YOU. Often times, whatever works well for someone else, even if they are your best friend, sister, etc., will not be what is best for you.
It is great that there are so many options when it comes to working out and making it fun. We personally LOVE lifting weights because it not only builds muscle and makes you stronger on the outside, but also on the inside. Weightlifting challenges us mentally in that we are constantly trying to be better than we were the day before.
A lot of working out and pushing yourself is mental in our opinion. We love the quote, “Whether you think you can or can’t, you are right”—Henry Ford.
With doing any kind of workout, it can be tougher some days to find the motivation to push yourself. What we love about working out is that you are doing it for yourself, and only yourself. You are in competition with YOURSELF.
We also think it is great to try new classes or new methods of eating or preparing certain foods! You may even find something you will end up loving without even knowing! If you have never tried lifting weights, we highly recommend it!
Some resources to check out are Bodybuilding.com, YouTube instructional videos (our YouTube channel, DoubleDoseFitness1, has detailed videos for each body part), hiring a Personal Trainer, etc. We also suggest trying yoga if you have never tried it before, or maybe a fun, interactive class like CitySurf Fitness!
Living a healthier lifestyle is not about doing what everyone else is doing. It is about doing what works for YOU and what allows you to make it a long-term lifestyle!
